Content Management System
What is a Content Management System (CMS) ?
A CMS is simply a way for anyone to update their own web content, like: words, pictures and documents. Instead of paying a web specialist to update your site, you can do it yourself with a CMS.
An Example CMS
Show on the right is a simple three-step process to using a custom CMS.
In the first step you login to your site. This login identifies who you are before letting you make any changes.
Step two is to update your content by changing words, pictures or documents all using a standard web browser. There' s nothing for you to install or learn.
The final step is to publish your changes, in this example it is pushing the "Update" button. Voila. Your changes are complete and live on that page.
Benefits of a CMS
Simplicity is a virtue to using a custom CMS and in just a few minutes you will be able to keep your site looking fresh with new and relevant content.
Changing your own web pages means that you'll be saving money.
